About The Samuel Law Firm

Mr. Samuel graduated from Yeshiva University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree and thereafter attended the Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. He was admitted to the New York bar in 1993.

Mr. Samuel began his legal career at Kresch & Kresch in New York City. While at the Kresch firm, Michael tried scores of cases, auspiciously beginning with a verdict in excess of $900,000 on his very first personal injury jury trial. For most of his tenure at Kresch & Kresch, Mr. Samuel was the managing lawyer responsible for overseeing the other attorneys as well as the day-to-day operations of the firm. After leaving Kresch & Kresch, Michael opened his own firm, which he has led since 2004.

Mr. Samuel’s current practice includes ADA defense, where he has defended more than 100 businesses in website and premises accessibility lawsuits; wage and hour litigation for both employers and employees; contract and commercial litigation defense; personal injury matters; and judgment enforcement and collections. Notably, Michael served as pro bono counsel to a victim of the September 11 attacks who suffered substantial injuries. Mr. Samuel applied to the Victims Compensation Fund on his client’s behalf, leading to a recovery of $940,000.

Mr. Samuel is admitted to practice in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and in the state courts of New York.

Mr. Beresin holds a J.D. (cum laude) from Harvard Law School and a B.S. in Economics (summa cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He began his legal career as an associate with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and then Seyfarth, Shaw in New York. Prior to entering private practice, he interned in the Organized Crime Task Force at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts (Boston) and clerked for the Hon. James McGirr Kelly of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
